Blackberry Yogurt Scones

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons milk, if needed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract


  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Prepare a scone pan, if using, with a spray oil.
  2. Sift flour into a bowl.  Mix the sugar, salt and baking powder with the flour.
  3. Add the butter to the flour mixture, and mix until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
  4. Gently toss the blackberries into the flour mixture.
  5. Add the yogurt and vanilla.  If the mixture is too thick, add a little milk.
  6. Make scones and bake 15 minutes.
  7. Cool. 
  8. Mix the powdered sugar and milk together and ice each scone.
  9. Serve immediately.

Yields: 8 large or 16 mini scones
